Build Your Career in
American Energy

Alamo Exploration is growing. We’re looking for talented professionals in land, geosciences, finance, legal, and technology who share our commitment to responsible energy development and institutional-grade excellence.

Our Culture

Where Expertise Meets
Purpose

At Alamo Exploration, you won’t find the bureaucracy of a large-cap operator or the instability of a startup. We are a mid-market energy enterprise with institutional-grade standards and the agility to move fast when opportunities emerge. Every team member has direct access to senior leadership and a meaningful impact on our acquisition strategy.

We recruit specialists — petroleum geologists who can read a Wolfcamp log, landmen who can curate title in any county in North Dakota, financial analysts who can model a 40-year PDP decline curve. If you are the best at what you do, we want to hear from you.

We are based in Houston and work across the basins where we transact. Many roles are open to hybrid, remote, or contract arrangements depending on the engagement.

Benefits & Compensation

Competitive Compensation
Base salary, performance bonuses, and long-term incentive programs benchmarked against the upstream energy sector.

Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents. HSA and FSA options available.
Retirement & Savings
401(k) with company match, profit-sharing contributions, and financial planning resources.
Professional Development
Tuition reimbursement, industry conference attendance, and internal mentorship programs.
Flexible Work
Hybrid work arrangements for eligible roles, with core collaboration days and flexible scheduling.

Generous PTO policy, paid holidays, parental leave, and volunteer time off for community engagement.

Early Career

Internship & Development Programs

Alamo Exploration maintains a structured internship program for students pursuing degrees in petroleum engineering, geology, land management, finance, and related disciplines. Our internship cohorts work on real acquisition evaluations alongside senior professionals, gaining hands-on experience with institutional-grade mineral analysis.

We recruit primarily from Texas A&M, the University of Oklahoma, the University of Texas, Colorado School of Mines, and Penn State — though we welcome applicants from any accredited program. Summer internship applications open each January for placements beginning in May.

Our early-career development program provides new graduates with a two-year rotational experience across our land, geoscience, and finance departments, with dedicated mentorship and a clear pathway to a permanent role.
